The school follows the unified syllabus of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Tamil is a compulsory language from I to V grade and Hindi offered as third language as optional subjects. Apart from academic learning , much importance is given to co-curricular activities , extra-curricular activities as well as Physical Education.

Piousness and respect for elders are the two most significant qualities emphasized on DSAV students. Their spiritual interest is kindled by including a special sloka period in the regular class timetable. Also, Havan are conducted in the assembly on every Friday.
